Bruce and Angela Miller are the founders of The Lord’s Church of Wilmington, NC. They have a genuine love for God, an unselfish commitment to His people and a great compassion for those who have not yet come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord. They have been blessed with nine children and nine grands so far.
Bruce and Angela met in 1979 while in their last semester of college. (Angela at Duke University and Bruce at UNC-Chapel Hill.) They both earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology /Sociology and Political Science, respectively. During this time, Angela was stricken with Multiple Sclerosis. The two committed their lives to Christ and married in May of 1980. A few months later, God intervened and brought healing through His Word and the laying on of hands. They began their call to ministry in Chapel Hill, NC as R. Bruce was licensed into the ministry in 1982 at Faith Tabernacle Church. In the summer of 1991, he was ordained into the Office of Pastor. The two were commissioned and sent by “The Lord’s Church International Outreach” to pioneer and establish the vision of The Lord’s Church of Wilmington. The two completed” Word University” Bible Training courses at the Lord’s Church of Chapel Hill and “Teamwork Bible College” courses at TLC-Wilmington, NC. They have established various ministry programs, including Operation Legacy Development Corporation (501 c3), Overcomers Campus Ministry (UNC-Wilmington), Word of Life Bible College, Open Hands Food Bank, O.L. Urban Farms, Higher Heights After School Program, and Youth Detention Outreach. Pastor Bruce also partners with and serves as a board member for several church and community organizations. We have been directed to advance the kingdom by ministering to the lost, and supporting local churches through various workshops, leadership development classes, and various media outlets. Our desire is to help people discover, develop and fulfill their God-appointed purpose. |
